James Marchiano

Justice James Marchiano was appointed to the California Court of Appeal by Governor Davis in 2002 and was reconfirmed by the electorate in 2006. He was previously a judge on the Superior Court in Contra Costa County and a private law practice partner in Oakland and San Francisco. He was named "State Trial Judge of the Year" by the California Trial Lawyers Association and "Trial Judge of the Year" by the Alameda-Contra Costa Trial Lawyers Association. He has lectured and taught at several universities and has written several publications. He is a Democrat and Catholic.
