Judge Charles Smiley confirmed as an associate justice for the First District Court of Appeal, Division One

Chief Justice Patricia Guerrero, chair of the Commission on Judicial Appointments, announced that the commission today confirmed Judge Charles A. Smiley as an associate justice of the First District Court of Appeal, Division One. The appointment was confirmed unanimously. Before his confirmation, Justice Smiley had served as a judge on the Alameda County Superior Court since 2012.
