Joan D. Klein

Joan Dempsey Klein is a Presiding Justice of the Court of Appeal, Second Appellate District, Division Three. She was appointed by Governor Brown Jr. in 1978 and confirmed by the Commission on Judicial Appointments and the electorate. She was also a Judge of the Superior Court and Municipal Court in Los Angeles County. She was a Deputy Attorney General for the California State Department of Justice and a teacher and professional swimmer. She has received many awards for her service and is an active member of many organizations.
