Robert S. Thompson
Robert S. Thompson was a Justice of the Court of Appeal, Second Appellate District, Division One. He was appointed by Governor Regan in 1968 and elected in 1970 for a 12 year term. He was a Judge of the Superior Court and Municipal Court in Los Angeles County, appointed by Governor Brown. He was a Chief Assistant US Attorney, a private law practitioner, and a lecturer at the University of Southern California Law Center. He was admitted to the California Bar in 1946 and earned his B.S. and LL.B. from the University of Southern California. He served as a Captain in the US Army during World War II. He was a member of the Republican State Central Committee Speakers Bureau and the California Judges Association, American Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, and Los Angeles County Bar Association.
