Policy on Electronic Devices in the Courts

Body

Public use of electronic devices, such as laptop computers and tablets, is allowed in Court of Appeal court rooms, but they must be silenced and placed in "airplane mode" at all times. They can only be used to aid in presenting oral argument and not to display demonstrative evidence. Cellular phones and other electronic devices are not allowed, and audio or video recording or photography is only allowed if it follows the California Rules of Court, Rule 1.150. If these rules are not followed, the violator will be removed from the court room.
