Robert L. Martin is a former Justice of the Fifth District Court of Appeal. He grew up in Vallejo, California and was influenced by a Miss Letson, his high school counselor. He knew from a young age that he wanted to be a lawyer and worked hard to make it happen. He attended Vallejo Junior College, worked, and was drafted into the Army. After his military service, he was able to attend law school with the help of the GI Bill. He served 20 years as a jurist and is known for being a tough, no-nonsense judge.
