Richard J. McAdams

Richard John McAdams is an Associate Justice of the Sixth District Court of Appeal. He was appointed by Governor Brown Jr. in 1977, and was elected to the Superior Court in 1998. He has held various positions in the legal field, including private law practice, staff attorney/directing attorney for the Legal Aid Society of Santa Cruz County, and associate for Jarvis, Miller & Stender. He has also been involved in various organizations, such as the California Judges Association, the California Judicial Council, and the California Center for Judicial Education and Research. He received his J.D. from Hastings College of the Law, and his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.
