In an unlimited civil case, a party may appeal an unfavorable judgment or certain orders to the Court of Appeal. The appellant must file a notice of appeal in the superior court and pay a filing fee and deposit. The appellant must also designate the documents and oral proceedings to be included in the record that will be sent to the Court of Appeal. The appellant must also serve and file a Civil Case Information Statement in the Court of Appeal. The respondent may also file a notice of appeal and designate additional proceedings to be included in the record.
