George E. Danielson
George E. Danielson was born on February 20, 1915, in Wausa, Nebraska, and passed away on September 12, 1998, in Monterey Park, California.
In terms of his education, Danielson earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nebraska in 1936. He then went on to complete his Juris Doctor degree from the same university in 1939. He was admitted to the State Bar in 1949.
Danielson had a rich judicial experience. He served as an Associate Justice in the California Court of Appeal, Second Appellate District, Division 3. His tenure lasted from March 9, 1982, to April 30, 1992, after being appointed by Governor Edmund Brown, Jr.
Before his judicial career, Danielson had an extensive professional background. He served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1970 to 1982. Prior to that, he was a member of the California Senate from 1966 to 1970 and the California Assembly from 1962 to 1966.
Danielson also had experience in law practice. He was a part of the law firm Danielson, Johnson & Burgard in Los Angeles, California, from 1951 to 1971. Before that, he served as a U.S. Attorney in Los Angeles, California, from 1949 to 1951.
In addition to his legal and political career, Danielson served in the U.S. Navy towards the end of World War II. He also worked as an F.B.I. agent for five years.
Notably, Danielson was a member of the House Judiciary Committee during the Watergate controversy. In 1974, he urged for the impeachment of President Nixon as a member of the same committee.
