Patti S. Kitching
Patti S. Kitching was born in Los Angeles, California. She has a rich educational background, having earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA in 1963 and a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School in 1974. She was admitted to the State Bar in the same year she graduated from law school.
Kitching has an extensive judicial experience. She served as an Associate Justice in the California Court of Appeal, Second Appellate District, Division 3 from January 12, 1993 to October 5, 2015. She was appointed to this position by Governor Pete Wilson. Prior to this, she was a Judge at the Los Angeles Superior Court from 1990 to 1993, a position she was appointed to by Governor George Deukmejian. She also served as a Judge at the Los Angeles Municipal Court from 1988 to 1989, also appointed by Governor George Deukmejian.
Before her judicial appointments, Kitching had a professional background in law and finance. She worked as a Senior Counsel at Bank of America in Los Angeles, California from 1986 to 1988. She also served as a Deputy Attorney General at the California State Department of Justice in Los Angeles, California from 1975 to 1986.
