William C. Doran
William C. Doran was an Associate Justice for Division 1, serving from October 14, 1935, until 1958. He was born on December 21, 1884, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and passed away on January 23, 1965, in Los Angeles, California.
In terms of his education, Doran obtained his LL.B. from the University of Southern California Law School in 1907. He was admitted to the State Bar in July of the same year.
Doran had a significant judicial experience. He served as an Associate Justice in the California Court of Appeal, Second Appellate District, Division 1 from October 14, 1935, until 1958. Prior to this, he was a Judge in the Los Angeles Superior Court from January 2, 1923, to October 13, 1935.
Before his judicial roles, Doran had a professional background in law enforcement. He was the Chief Deputy District Attorney for Los Angeles County from 1917 to 1923. Before that, he served as a Deputy District Attorney in the same county from 1910 to 1917.
